JID 2022: International Customs Day 2022

The edition of the JID 2022, was placed by the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), KUNIO MIKURIYA, under the theme: “Accelerating the digital transformation of customs by developing a culture of data and an efficient ecosystem”. In Cameroon, the JID was celebrated on January 26, 2022 at Air Base 101 in Yaoundé, under the patronage of Mr. Louis Paul MOTAZE, Minister of Finance

This year, it experienced two (02) innovations. On the one hand, the organization of a Health Week. Health was once organized in a single day and on a single site: that of the headquarters of the General Directorate of Customs (DGD) in Bastos. In 2022, a whole week is devoted to Health. In addition to the DGD headquarters in Bastos, the sites of: the DGD annex in TSINGA, Central Customs Sector in MVOG-MBI, Air Base 101 in Yaoundé are concerned by this activity. For seven days, Customs personnel, users and partners had the opportunity to be tested and receive vaccines against COVID-19 and other diseases. They also had the opportunity to know their serological status, to offer blood for the bank of our health facilities and to know their Rhesus system.

On the other hand, the organization of a witness stand. The Stand-witness is a VIP space for event communication with a thematic vocation. It offers visitors the opportunity to appreciate the IT reforms of the DGD (CAMCIS, COSMOS, Control Room) and its security and health systems as well as the data exchange platforms.
